Spring Equinox in Japan 春分の日 しゅんぶんのひ
Spring Is Here!
The spring equinox in Japan (March 20th or 21st) falls in the middle of the week of festivals called Haru no Higan. On this day people will go back to their family’s home and tend to the graves of their ancestors. Farmers will also pray for a good harvest. It is also the time for renewal in general like spring cleaning and starting a new hobby or going to a new school. In Japan the spring equinox is a public holiday and most people have the day off.References
