Greenery Day みどりの日 みどりのひ
Why Greenery Day?
Originally Hirohito’s birthday of April 29th considered a holiday across Japan. Later, when his son became emperor Heisei, the name of the holiday was changed to Greenery Day to reflect his love of plants and nature, and have a holiday on his birthday without mentioning him by name. However, Greenery Day was moved to May 4th in 2007 and has become part of the Golden Week of public holidays across Japan.Parks and Gardens are for Free!!
This day public parks and gardens wave their fees and become free of charge! Also National Parks are for free. By all means visit the beautiful nature of Japan!References
