Tenjin Festival is a festival held at Tenmangu Shrines (Tenjinsha) throughout Japan.One of Japan’s three major festivals (the others are the Gion Festival in Kyoto and the Kanda Festival in Tokyo). It is also one of the three major summer festivals in Osaka, along with the Ikutama summer festival of Ikutama Shrine and the Sumiyoshi festival of Sumiyoshi Taisha Shrine. The event will be held for about one month from late June to July 25.

In particular, on the night of the main shrine on the 25th, Funatogi, where many boats come and go on the Okawa River (formerly the Yodo River), are the votive fireworks.Other Events Going On
It is also called a fire and water festival due to its splendid appearance by bonfires, lantern lights and fireworks reflected in Okawa.
