SUMMARY:Yoshida Fire Festival In Yamanashi Prefecture　吉田の火祭り　よしだのひまつり (山梨　やまなし）
DESCRIPTION:\nFor Two Nights FujiYoshida Intentionally Transforms Itself Into a Sea of Fire!\nThe Yoshida Fire Festival In Yamanashi Prefecture certainly puts the “Fire” in Fire Festival. On August 26th and 27th of every year, corresponding to the end of hiking season on Mt. Fuji, the townspeople of FujiYoshida light a torch in front of every building in their city. For two evenings two portable shrines are carried along different routes through the town from FujiYoshida Sengen Shrine to a sacred resting place. And once the shrines have completed their journeys huge three meter high torches made of pine are lit all over the city giving the impression of a “Sea of Fire”. Apparently this festival is singled out as being particularly true to its roots in the traditional attempts to assuage the mighty god that is (according to some people) Fuji Mountain!\nReferences\nIn English\nhttps://www.japan.travel/en/spot/198/ ( https://www.japan.travel/en/spot/198/ )\nhttps://ohmatsuri.com/en/articles/yamanashi-yoshida-fire-festival ( https://ohmatsuri.com/en/articles/yamanashi-yoshida-fire-festival )\nIn Japanese\nhttp://www.mfi.or.jp/himatsuri/ ( http://www.mfi.or.jp/himatsuri/ )\nhttps://fujiyoshida.net/event/154 ( https://fujiyoshida.net/event/154 )\nPhoto thanks to Japanese Wikipedia ( https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/ファイル:Yoshida_Fire_Festival_20190826b.jpg ).\n\nAbout the AuthorPjechorin Facebook TwitterI have lived and worked with my family in Japan since 2005. For many years I have been interested in the very practical and creative side of Japanese culture. In my free time I travel around, enjoy hiking in the countryside and cities, and just generally seeing and doing new things. This blog is primarily a way for me to focus my energies and record and teach others about what I have learned by experience constructively. I am interested in urban development, and sustainable micro-economics, especially home-economics, and practical things everyday families can do to survive and thrive through these changing times.\n\nRelated Items on Amazon.co.jp\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nDeep Cuts of Japonica from Rakuten Japan\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nrakuten_design="slide";rakuten_affiliateId="194c1902.4e292998.194c1903.70e7fb9d";rakuten_items="ctsmatch";rakuten_genreId="0";rakuten_size="728x200";rakuten_target="_blank";rakuten_theme="gray";rakuten_border="on";rakuten_auto_mode="off";rakuten_genre_title="off";rakuten_recommend="on";rakuten_ts="1584940527191";\n\nOther Articles You Might Be Interested In\nNew Year’s Fukagawa Seven Gods of Fortune Pilgrimage| Stamp Rally 深川七福神　| FukagawaShichiFukuJinJanuary 2, 2026Guide to Tokyo Sea Forest Park | Umi no Mori Park | 海の森公園September 6, 2025The Seven Wonders of Fukagawa | 深川七不思議 – Tokyo Urban LegendsAugust 14, 2025\nBuy me a coffee, or two, or three ;-DThanks you for your support!Click Here for PayPal.me\n
