SUMMARY:Okeramairi : New Year’s Eve Visit to Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto をけら詣り
DESCRIPTION:\n Okeramairi: Luck Bringing Burning Rope From the Gods\nOkeramairi (New Years Eve Visit to Yasaka Shrine) is a Kyoto tradition dating back to the times of Heian-kyo. The people of Kyoto are invited to visit Yasaka shrine and pray for skill in the kitchen. They then light a bamboo rope that burns slowly from the holy bonfire. They take the smoldering rope home while twirling it to keep it from going out. Once home the fire is used to light a small fire in the house shrine. The next day the shrine’s fire can be used to boil tea or miso soup for especially good luck for the rest of the year. The bit of rope that made it home is hung up in the kitchen and is supposed to bring good luck if it made it all the way home without going out.\nReferences\nIn English\nhttps://www.japan.travel/en/spot/80/ ( https://www.japan.travel/en/spot/80/ )\nhttps://kyotokankoyagi.com/okerabi-yasakashrine-en ( https://kyotokankoyagi.com/okerabi-yasakashrine-en )\nIn Japanese\nhttps://www.the-kyoto.jp/calendar/december/yasaka-okera/ ( https://www.the-kyoto.jp/calendar/december/yasaka-okera/ )\nhttps://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/白朮祭 ( https://ja.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/白朮祭 )\nPhoto thanks to Ja.Kyoto.Travel ( https://ja.kyoto.travel/event/single.php?event_id=2334 ).\n\nOther Articles You Might Be Interested In Similar To Okeramairi\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n【T】【送料無料】お取り寄せグルメ【6個入】 祇園又吉 だし香る京風かつとじ 京都 お土産 京都 お取り寄せ カツ丼 かつ丼 惣菜 セット 惣菜 ギフト 高級 ギフト グルメ ギフト レンジ 温めるだけ 贈り物 食べ物 通年2020 送料無料 kf-dk価格：4104円（税込、送料無料) (2020/11/6時点)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n【ふるさと納税】京の料亭米3kg＜八代目儀兵衛＞価格：10000円（税込、送料無料) (2020/11/6時点)\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nrakuten_design="slide";rakuten_affiliateId="194c1902.4e292998.194c1903.70e7fb9d";rakuten_items="ranking";rakuten_genreId="0";rakuten_size="728x200";rakuten_target="_blank";rakuten_theme="gray";rakuten_border="on";rakuten_auto_mode="on";rakuten_genre_title="off";rakuten_recommend="on";rakuten_ts="1582255594289";\n\nBuy me a coffee, or two, or three ;-DThanks you for your support!Click Here for PayPal.me\n
